Cello Extravaganza lll: Benefit Concert For An Instrument For Every Child and Blooms For Africa

Five At The First’s third CELLO EXTRAVAGANZA III will feature its largest cello orchestra to date, with over 100 cellists from across Southern Ontario conducted by Cynthia Carey and accompanied by Rachel Derry. The playbill will include Bach Solo Cello Suites, U2, Casals’ Song of the Birds, arrangements by 2CELLOS, Saint-Saens’ The Swan, Jazz, and Popper’s Requiem, to name a few....culminating in a new collaboration with Kellylee Evans!

Beneficiaries:

Blooms for Africa is Canadian grandmothers raising funds for African grandmothers caring for children orphaned due to HIV/AIDS. An Instrument For Every Child provides elementary school children in Hamilton's inner-city with qualified instrumental instruction during school hours.
