Ryerson Community Concert Series Present Strings Attached: An Evening with Emma Rush

New Concert Series

The first concert of the new Ryerson Community Concert Series will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 7pm featuring local guitar virtuoso Emma Rush. The series, taking place at Ryerson United Church in Ancaster, is the initiative of Music Director Ian Green. Ian Green envisions the series as a way to showcase exceptional music in the community while also fundraising for the church and it’s associated charitable organizations. Situated in a beautiful area of the city, the venue offers excellent acoustics in an intimate environment.

Local guitarist Emma Rush will take the stage with works by Rodrigo, Merlin, Pujol, and Hunt, among others. Many of the works were featured on her recent album Folklórica (2014). Known for her innovative programming and powerful stage presence, this concert is sure to kick of the new series with a bang! Rush tours internationally, having just returned from dates in the United States and Europe, including a concert at the prestigious Internationales Gitarren Symposium Iserlohn (Germany), one of the biggest guitar festivals in the world. This is a rare chance to hear her perform a solo concert at home in Hamilton. V
