Turn It On Songwriter Contest Finalists & Semi-Finalists

The Hamilton JUNO Host Committee is very pleased to announce the finalists and semi-finalists for the Turn It On Songwriter Contest (presented by Judy Marsales Real Estate Ltd.). The Host Committee received over 60 submissions for this contest, which was open to Hamilton musicians over the age of 18 and asked them to write an original song creatively incorporating the tag line “Turn It On” and Hamilton.

Congratulations to the Turn It On Songwriter Contest finalists and semi-finalists! Hamilton has a lot of amazing talent and it was incredible to hear the passion and love for this city put to song by local musicians.

Cable 14 Live Competition to Determine Winner

The top finalists will compete live on Cable 14 in front of a live studio audience with the winner being selected on-air by our Cable 14  judges Boris Brott, Steve Strongman and Terra Lightfoot.

·         Boris Brott. 
Internationally recognized Canadian conductor; founding Artistic Director of the Boris Brott Summer Music Festival and the National Academy Orchestra.
·         Terra Lightfoot. 
Hamilton based solo roots rock artist and member of Hamilton country band, the Dinner Belles.
·         Steve Strongman. 
JUNO award-winning Blues guitarist, singer and songwriter. Steve recently received a JUNO nomination for this year’s Awards.

Fan Favourite Online Contest

Because we received such a large number of great submissions we wanted to find a way to share as many of the entries as possible and provide an opportunity to engage the general public and music lovers. The Fan Favourite Contest will launch on February 17 and close March 2.  We will be asking you to listen to all of the songs from the semi-finalists and finalists and vote for your Turn It On Songwriter Contest Fan Favourite. The winner of the Fan Favourite contest will win two (2) tickets to The JUNO Awards Broadcast.
